Our Process
Once you express your interest in aquariums, a Rift 2 Reef aquarium designer will come and measure the area where it will be installed. This ensures you’ll get a seamless and unobtrusive fit. After a quick sketch, we can start building or customizing your unit. Our team can also craft your aquarium to suit either freshwater or saltwater fish. Once we get done with all of the preliminary aquatic design work, you can expect your brand new aquarium to be installed in just a few short weeks.

There are numerous types of aquariums on the market, so you need to do some research to find the right one for your fish and your lifestyle. One of the main factors you’ll have to consider is the type of fish or aquatic animal you need to build a habitat for. There are several variables you need to consider when crafting a custom aquarium, but one of the first things you need to decide on is your preferred style.
Framed– This traditional option looks great in doctor’s offices, living rooms, and the like.
Rimless– These aquariums are beveled to aesthetic perfection. Rimless aquariums are perfect for anyone hoping to bring a touch of modernity to their environment.
Amphibious Aquarium– If your underwater friends sometimes enjoy being above ground an amphibian aquarium or Paludarium may be preferable. Paludariums are essentially fish tanks with water and land features that create the perfect environment for creatures like snakes, snails, frogs, newts, salamanders, and more.
Stands, Canopies, and Accessories
Rift 2 Reef can customize your aquarium and ensure it looks flawless in its designated area. But you can also select some cool or useful accessories to customize the aquarium to fit your unique aesthetic and environment. Of course, the aquarium designers at our store would be happy to craft a one-of-a-kind setup as well.
We recommend stands and canopies to all of our clients, especially those with aquariums upwards of 20 gallons. Stands are essential once your aquarium hits a certain weight because most other furniture would buckle. Aquarium covers are beneficial for many reasons, but they are primarily used to stop evaporation, prevent highly active fish from jumping out, and lighting attachments setup can help with climate control.
As for accessories, this can mean cute corals and hiding places but accessories can also play a more active role in the overall health of your fish and aquarium’s wellbeing. The accessories you buy will depend on the type of fish you own, but some common accessories include air pumps, heaters, chillers, lighting, protein skimmers, and filters.
